Lithops

$18.00
Only 3 available

Lithops, commonly known as "living stones," are a genus of succulent plants native to southern Africa, particularly Namibia and South Africa. These fascinating plants have evolved to resemble stones or pebbles, helping them blend into their arid surroundings and avoid being eaten by herbivores, a survival strategy known as "mimicry." In their native habitats, they symbolize resilience, adaptation, and the beauty of simplicity. Their ability to thrive in harsh conditions has made them a metaphor for endurance and perseverance. Lithops are small, with two thick, fleshy leaves that store water, and they bloom in vibrant colors during the fall. Their unique appearance and low-maintenance care make them popular among succulent enthusiasts.

Care Tips:

  1. Light: Provide full sun for at least 4 hours a day. Lithops thrive in bright, indirect light.

  2. Watering: Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, especially during their dormant period in summer.

  3. Soil: Use well-draining, sandy soil to prevent root rot.
